The small town San Simeon offers great lookout points right off the coast of California! If you’re ready for a leisure day that doesn’t require much hiking with great reward, this spot is for you. It became one of my favorite places!

San Simeon is located kind of half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco. It’s north of Santa Maria. If you ever heard of Hearst Castle, a famous castle recommended by many, it is right by there, just south of there actually. A great day adventure if you want to do both!

There are numerous vista points, and not far from each other.

Watch out for the wildlife! They like to get close!!!

You are stopping about every half mile seeing another great view! Some do have hiking trails, short ones where you can have spectacular shots from all the different angles. Some trails bring you to the beach and some just offer lookout points. Both very pretty!

Moonstone Beach

There is Moonstone Beach right around there too. Make sure you drive on Moonstone Beach drive! There are shops, restaurants, trails and beaches. Moonstone beach is just south of all these magnificent vista points. And Moonstone beach offers remarkable views too!

One thing I didn’t do was stick around by these vista’s during sunset. I bet it would be marvelous! Hope you guys get to do it! If you do, send me a picture. I would love to see it!

I’m from Buffalo, New York. I have never seen algae or whatever this is before and I see it all over the coast! What the heck is it?
