Driskill Mountain, the highest point in Louisiana is super super super tall. No, I’m just joking. It is 535 feet with an elevation gain of 213 feet. This trail is 1.8 miles round-trip and is an out and back trail. Basically, a nice easy walk.
The trail-head is located by Bienville and it is at a cemetery and a church. The people are really nice here and in my experience, a man parked at the church, who I believe was the owner, gave us a dozen farm fresh eggs for free. He said, “it’s not about the altitude but about the attitude.” Super nice guy and that was definitely unexpected!

We also met a couple people at the top who were locals and they were super nice to us as well. Just very friendly people on this nice refreshing hike. If you are looking for views, this may not be the hike for you. But, if you’re looking to stretch your legs, or to check another high point off your bucket-list, this walk is nice.

This high point is located in northern Louisiana, so if you are looking to do several high points in the south, the states Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, all have their high points located in the north. Road trip!

Their is a video located right below of summiting the grand Driskill Mountain!

Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading!!!
